The Schuylkill Conservation District works alongside a network of federal, state, and local partners to deliver conservation programs and services throughout Schuylkill County. These partnerships allow us to leverage resources, share expertise, and achieve greater conservation outcomes for our communities and natural resources. USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
The NRCS provides technical and financial assistance to agricultural producers through programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). The District works closely with the local NRCS field office to help farmers access these resources.
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
The District is delegated by the PA DEP to administer several regulatory programs at the local level, including the Erosion and Sediment Control and NPDES permit programs. This partnership ensures efficient, locally-based environmental protection.
Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA)
The District partners with the PDA on agricultural conservation programs including nutrient management planning and the Agricultural Land Preservation Program, helping to protect Schuylkill County's farming heritage.
Pennsylvania State Association of Conservation Districts (PACD)
The PACD represents Pennsylvania's 66 conservation districts and provides training, resources, and advocacy support. The District is an active member and benefits from statewide collaboration and shared best practices.
Schuylkill County
The District operates under the authority of Schuylkill County and works in close partnership with county government to deliver conservation programs that benefit county residents, landowners, and natural resources.
Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC)
The District collaborates with the PFBC on stream habitat restoration, riparian buffer projects, and water quality initiatives that benefit fish and aquatic life in Schuylkill County's waterways.
Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC)
The District partners with the PGC on wildlife habitat improvement projects, invasive species management, and conservation education programs that support healthy wildlife populations across the county.
Penn State Extension
Penn State Extension provides research-based educational resources and outreach that complement the District's conservation programs. Together we deliver workshops, field days, and technical information to farmers and landowners.
